THIS RUG'S STORY:

This Boujad originated in the Middle Atlas region of Morocco. Named "Gemstone" for its unique and beautiful color combination of purple and pink, so this one to me is a total gem. This rug is also special because it's a unique wider size that is uncommon in Moroccan rugs. Even though it dates back to the 1960's, the colors and style is very relevant in today's decor and is a timeless piece. Hand selected in Morocco, Gemstone is a simple yet stunning work of art.

ABOUT MOROCCAN RUGS:

Each vintage Moroccan rug is hand woven and knotted by Berber women of the tribal region specified. This level of craftsmanship can take weeks to complete a single rug. Weaving techniques have been passed down through the generations. The patterns, designs, and colors in each rug vary with each rug, weaver, and tribe – so each piece is truly a unique work of art and 2 pieces will never be the same. Often these rugs have been passed though the families who created them, and have been uncovered from the mountain and rural areas of Morocco.
