THIS RUG'S STORY:

Sometimes you come across pieces you love so much you just don't want to ever part with them. This is one of those rugs for me. The moment I saw her I knew I had to have her! Actually, this one has a funny story behind it.

One of my rug buddies in northern Morocco sent a picture of this rug to me, but then when he went to go purchase it, it was already sold. Then months later I another rug vendor in Marrakech sent me this rug and I fell in love with it and purchased it. The funny thing is I didn't realize it was the same rug until I compared pictures- but both times I knew the second I saw it, I had to have it!

Farah has the prettiest pinky, purple, almost peachy tones. The color is hard to describe, but mixed with those oranges and navy blue, it is a stunning combo. It is a vintage Beni M'Guild rug that has a lovely diamond pattern that is interesting yet timeless.

ABOUT MOROCCAN RUGS:

Each vintage Moroccan rug is hand woven and knotted by Berber women of the tribal region specified. This level of craftsmanship can take up to weeks or months to complete a single rug. Weaving techniques have been passed down through the generations. The patterns, designs, and colors vary with each rug, weaver, and tribe – so each piece is truly a unique work of art and 2 pieces will never be the same. Often these rugs have been handed down through the families who created them, and have been uncovered from the mountain and rural areas of Morocco.
