Rafi

$2,298.00 USD

STORY:

This rug originated from the Middle Atlas region in Morocco, and was handcrafted in the Beni Ourain tribe. Actually it is from a tribe within Beni Ourain, and is referred to as a Marmocha rug. The Beni Ourain tribe is located in the Middle Atlas Mountain region and the higher pile is reflective of the cold winter temperatures. They often feature high pile with a beautifully hand knotted back. You'll often find the reverse side of these rugs are very stunning too, as shown in the picture below.

The name Rafi is an Arabic name meaning "noble". This rug is special because it has "1966" woven into it, likely signifying the year it was woven. Neutral and timeless, this rug will fit into practically any interior.
