Oh My Stars

THIS RUG'S STORY:

I adore this vintage Beni Ourain's character and pattern! It is low pile with decades of age and use, but all of those stars in the center make for a very unique design! I've never came across another even close. Another fun attribute - it is made entirely of natural undyed wool! The brown taupe color is actually from natural black sheep if you look closely!

Many times the thick plush Beni's are desired, but this one being a true older piece is something becoming harder and harder to find. He's approximately 6x9' and reasonably priced for rugs of this tribe.

ABOUT MOROCCAN RUGS:

Each vintage Moroccan rug is hand woven and knotted by Berber women of the tribal region specified. This level of craftsmanship can take up to weeks or months to complete a single rug. Weaving techniques have been passed down through the generations. The patterns, designs, and colors in each rug vary with each rug, weaver, and tribe – so each piece is truly a unique work of art and 2 pieces will never be the same. Often these rugs have been handed down through the families who created them, and have been uncovered from the mountain and rural areas of Morocco.
