THIS RUG'S STORY:

Because of her small size, this little rug was likely a saddle cover! It's a mini vintage Beni M'Guild and is excellent condition. My favorite feature is how the pattern changes up throughout the rug. It would make the perfect little rug for a bathroom, but also could be hung on the wall too. It would be perfect for the art enthusiast or collector, who wants an interesting piece of Amazigh culture and history in their home.

Beni M'Guild feature a large knot, more of a plush rug and usually a diamond pattern. This little guy I hand picked while in Morocco in March 2020 and it's a unique artifact.

ABOUT MOROCCAN RUGS:

Each vintage Moroccan rug is hand woven and knotted by Berber women of the tribal region specified. This level of craftsmanship can take weeks or months to complete a single rug. Weaving techniques have been passed down through the generations. The patterns, designs, and colors in each rug vary with each rug, weaver, and tribe – so each piece is truly a unique work of art and 2 pieces will never be the same. Often these rugs have been handed down through the families who created them, and have been uncovered from the mountain and rural areas of Morocco.
